ElginRacing grew from various less formal gatherings, groups and ventures that ebbed and flowed over the preceding 50 years pursuing various aspects of motorsport.
“Dum Vivimus Vivamus” evolved from various Greek/Latin/Norse/Apache phrases as founder, Ben Jacobs, sought a single phrase that articulated his transition from a casual embrace of motorsport activities into a structured one. Simply stated, "While you can, pursue it."

Based in Bethesda, MD, ElginRacing is a longstanding member of the Washington DC Region (WDCR) of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA).
